Smart Safe - How To Guide

  1. Press Deposit on the smart safe touchscreen.
  2. Select your User Name.
  3. Enter your PIN to begin the deposit session.

Before inserting notes:

  • Tap notes gently on the counter to remove dust or debris.
  • Fan the edges to separate them.
  • Check for tears, tape, staples, or heavy creasing.
  • Remove any bands or rubber bands.

This helps prevent jams and rejected notes.

  • Place up to 25 notes into the feeder tray at one time.
  • Ensure notes are flataligned, and facing the same direction.
  • The safe will automatically draw the notes in and count them.

If any notes are rejected:

  • They will appear in the reject slot above the feeder.
  • Wait until the safe has finished inserting all accepted notes.
  • Remove rejected notes and check for:
    • Tears
    • Heavy creases
    • Tape or staples
    • Folded corners
  • Re present the note once only.
  • Do not force rejected notes into the stacker tray.

  • When the safe finishes counting, the total value will appear on screen.
  • Review the amount.
  • Press Log Out to complete your deposit and end your session.
  • A receipt will automatically print showing:
    • Total deposit value
    • Breakdown by denomination
    • Date and time
    • User ID

What is needed to operate the solution?

It will require 2 x Electrical sockets and 1 x LAN port for data transfer.

How is the solution secured to the ground?

It is bolted to the floor with anchor bolts, preferably into concrete.

Is the solution always switched on?

Yes, it is powered up and it does not need to be turned off.

Can I make a deposit at any time I want?

Yes, select ‘Deposit’ to start depositing cash.

Can retailers have individual user logins?

Yes, they can set up individual user names via the portal.

Can retailers have individual user PIN’s?

Yes, they can set up individual user PIN’s via the portal.

What does the display show the cashier when a deposit is made?

As each denomination is accepted the value is displayed.

Should I do a manual count before making a deposit?

It is not necessary to count the cash before making the deposit.

How fast does the solution accept notes?

Notes are accepted, validated and secured at a rate of 30 notes per minute.

Can I cancel a deposit if challenged by a customer?

No, once the cash is counted it is secured, it can not be returned.

Will I get a receipt for my deposit?

Yes, a receipt will be printed after each deposit is completed.

What is good best practice for keeping the receipts?

Customers will often keep all receipts to support their end of day cash reconciliation.

What notes will the solution accept?

Any UK current bank issued notes it can validate to be genuine.

Will the device accept counterfeit notes?

No, a counterfeit note is rejected as not legal tender.

What should I do with a rejected note?

Ask your customer to provide you with an alternative note.

What should I do with a rejected note if the customer has gone?

Take the note to the local bank - if it is genuine it can be credited to your account.

What should I do if the customer has insufficient cash to complete the transaction?

Complete the transaction for a smaller value or provide a refund from the till.

Can the safe integrate with a Retailer’s EPOS?

No, today EPOS integration has not been completed, but will be a future phase.

What should I do if I need help with the solution?
